By Emerson N. Matson. A SOFTBOUND BOOK. Taken from interviews with tribal elders, this book is a collection of legend stories from several different tribes. These legends were passed down from generation to generation. They were gathered from the Nisqually, Lakota, Nez Perce, Snohomish, Makah, and Swimonish Tribes as told to the author by an elder member from each of the aforementioned tribes during the period of 1970-71. Photo subject representing the book is of Swinomish Chief Martin J. Samson, one of the legend tellers, and his granddaughter (ca 1969). However it is not the actual cover 125 pages.
